Adepticon is back! Once a year, fans of all things tabletop descend upon Schaumburg, Illinois to play Warhammer 40k, Malifaux, Wild West Exodus, and Warmachine just to name a few. While I haven't played Malifaux in quite some time it's still great to see it on the table again. Some of the paint jobs on display are just incredible! I can't wait to get some pictures tomorrow.

Speaking of tomorrow, that's the day we'll be doing an on site recording of our new podcast, Anonymous Tabletop! Some of you may recall that at one time Katie and I were part of the Screaming Heretic podcast in which we talked about Warhammer 40k, board games, and just about anything else that came to mind. That experience was incredible but sadly, it was also short lived. But you can't keep a good podcast down and from the ashes of Screaming Heretic a new one was born. Like all newborns, we're still getting our legs but having a blast doing so. We've shifted more towards the board game side of things but still include all things pop culture in our discussions. I'll make sure to post up links when it goes live so you can have a listen.

Stay tuned for a recap of our adventures at Adepticon!

And remember, until next time, Game on!

Last night we watched Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon:Sword of Destiny. As a fan of the first film, I was quick to take a look. It was full of the swordplay and the Kung Fu wire work one would expect from a movie like this. What surprised me most was that this was a Netflix original and not a larger studio production. That being said, while not as good as the original it was still a fun flick that scratches that Kung Fu itch! If you're a fan, be sure to check it out.

Of course, since we can't do anything around here without it somehow resorting to playing games I broke out the rules for Ghost Stories. It's a cooperative game where players take the roles of warrior monks protecting a village from wave after wave of ghosts intent on destroying it. While we've had our copy for quite some time now, this is the first time we'll be getting it to the table. Now that I've got the rules down Katie and I will be giving this a shot tonight and see what happens. Win or lose, Ghost Stories is surely "destined" to be a future Game Night Grub. Ah, see what I did there?

Ghost Stories

But anyway, wish us luck. As cooperative games go I've heard this one's a real killer. Can we turn back the the ghostly hoard and save the village or will we be overrun only to join their undead ranks? Who knows? But I do know one thing, we're going to have a lot of fun finding out. Stay tuned to find out how we fared!

Until next time, Game on!

Welcome to the New and Improved Game Night Grub!

Now that we've gone through a bit of an overhaul hopefully you'll notice things are a bit cleaner and easier to find. If you've been to Game Night Grub before the update you should find things look pretty familiar to the old site. If this is your first time here, welcome, we hope you like it! The goal of the changes on our end was to brighten the place up a bit as well as making it a whole like easier (and quicker) to update on the back end. A majority of the delays on new content were in direct relation to the fact that the old system was a bit clunky and cumbersome to work with. It made things tedious even when the smallest of updates was required.

With WordPress, even though I'm learning all of it from scratch, I find that there's so much more I can do to make Game Night Grub exactly what I want it to be. Of course, as with all new things, it's definitively a work in progress and I'm sure there will be tweaks and additions down the line as I get more comfortable with it. As always, I'm open to any comments and suggestions. We're always looking to make Game Night Grub the best that it can be and with your help we know we'll be able to do so.

But now, it's back to the grind. With C2E2 and Adepticon just around the corner we'll be hard at work to bring you news and updates from both. We've also got a new GNG in the works and we really hope you like it. We know we'll have a blast putting it all together for you. Until then, have a look around and see what you think.

Until next time, Game On!
